FUELING FUTURES IN TIRE REPAIR & RETREADING

The Marvin Bozarth Memorial Scholarship Fund is a new initiative created to honor the legacy of retreading industry icon Marvin Bozarth. This scholarship fund aims to support students pursuing technical education in the automotive and transportation sectors—particularly those interested in tire repair and retreading.

The retread and tire repair industries play a vital role in both the economy and the environment. Retreading helps private and public sector fleets save millions of dollars annually while promoting sustainability by reducing carbon emissions and conserving natural resources. However, like many trades, the industry faces a talent shortage due to rising education costs and limited awareness among students about career opportunities. The Marvin Bozarth Memorial Scholarship Fund seeks to address both challenges—providing financial aid to aspiring automotive professionals and helping TRIB members recruit skilled workers for their businesses.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Any current trade school student or high school student who will attend a trade school to pursue a career in the tire retread, tire repair, transportation, or other areas of the automotive industry may apply for this scholarship.

AWARD AMOUNT

Currently, two $500 scholarships will be awarded.
TRIB’s goal is to grow the fund to become self-sustaining and to offer up to four scholarships annually.
