The enclosed article, from the February 2003 issue of OVERDRIVE (used with permission) by John Baxter indicates casing preparation has proved to be a key to successful retreading and experts agree that casing maintenance is the most important step for a retreading program. Because air is part of the structure of the tire, running underinflated will destroy a casing.
