Retreading Provides Monster Savings For Monster Tires

Photo courtesy of Purcell Tire & Rubber Company Photo courtesy of Purcell Tire & Rubber Company
The front tires shown on this CAT model 994 Loader each weigh over 9,000 pounds and cost approximately $28,000 new. Their life expectancy is approximately 5,000 hours. They can be retreaded for less than $18,000 each and will provide wear at least equal to the original tire, which is why retreading is such an important part of most OTR (Off the Road) tire maintenance programs. Retreading of OTR tires also makes an important contribution to the environment. Millions of pounds of rubber are saved by retreading OTR tires in North America every year. And every time a monster tire is retreaded it's life is prolonged, keeping it out of our landfills.
