RECOMMENDED SPECIFICATION GUIDELINES (04/03)

THIS DOCUMENT IS NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH

" INDUSTRY RECOMMENDED PRACTICES FOR TIRE RETREADING & TIRE REPAIRING"

RECOMMENDED SPECIFICATION GUIDELINES  For Preparing a Tire Retread And Repair Government Bid.

This new version, April, 2003, replaces the August 1996 document.

This document was prepared by TRIB Member, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, and carries the Goodyear name on the cover page, however, THE GUIDELINES ARE MEANT TO BE GENERIC AND DO NOT PROMOTE ANY ONE COMPANY.

PURPOSE OF RECOMMENDED GUIDELINES

This guideline's inspection criteria, types of retread manufacturing processes and performance criteria for retread recommendation are intended for use by government agencies of all levels in securing a well manufactured retread and to achieve reliable services, safety and economy in bidding and procurement of retreaded tires. These guidelines are meant to be used as a whole, as deletions or modifications may prevent good retreading and quality product procurement.
